Zurich-based Andrina Bollinger invites us to enter her inner world to discover the gems of her debut solo album Secret Seed – a secret seed planted by the multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer that contains enticing and multifaceted soundscapes, revealing a version of herself that’s still hidden live. Her soft, caressing, at times thunderous voice adapts to the emotions she conveys and the message she delivers. Bollinger plays with patterns and harmonies to produce pop music that is at times ethereal and at others fragmented with nuanced beats. The Swiss artist’s music takes us through all sorts of states, from an intimate, almost confidential atmosphere to ample, orchestral songs. Playing (almost cheekily) with contrasts and genres, with her carefully crafted way of pronouncing words and bringing them to life, she captivates us and takes us into the innermost recesses of her feelings.
As a prelude, Basel musician Anna Aaron will showcase her melodic talent with tracks from her latest album, Gummy. In it, the singer tackles themes that touch her personally, against a backdrop of pop music driven by catchy beats and classy touches of electronica.
