Il n'y a pas de Ajar
Monologue contre l'Identité
Theater
In 1981, Bernard Pivot revealed on the literary programme Apostrophes that the writers Émile Ajar and Romain Gary were one and the same person. By shooting himself in the throat a few months earlier, Romain Gary had also killed Émile Ajar. Forty years after this first literary suicide, the philosopher and rabbi Delphine Horvilleur has written about Émile Ajar’s presumed son, Abraham. And what a twist! Johanna Nizard enters the stage. What follows is a hilarious monologue about identities that brings order to the confusion of dogmas and our damned certainties. A labyrinth of mirrors in which we’ll happily lose ourselves.
