From star to star, Jeremy Nedd & Impilo Mapantsula travel the cosmos. In blue nile to the galaxy around olodumare, the Basel-based American dancer and choreographer and the South African pantsula dance collective meet jazz stars Alice Coltrane and Bheki Mseleku. How do cosmic and spiritual music, the acoustic embodiment of the American civil rights movement, and pantsula, the manifestation of resistance to South African apartheid, shed light on our understanding of our place in time? What path to the future do they sketch out? Science-fiction? Afrofuturism? It’s high time we made something new out of old things, created dance and told stories!
