La Bâtie-Festival is organising shuttle buses from Geneva to Lausanne for a unique day at Théâtre Vidy Lausanne to discover three creations that will offer a unique perspective on past and contemporary themes to reveal the universal nature of our inner lives.

L’Interview 2 by Pascal Rambert stars Yvette Théraulaz and Clémentine Le Bas features a young woman, played by Le Bas, who comes to meet a former dancer for what should be a series of portraits. But the interview is just a pretext, and their dialogue soon mirrors their lives and the decisive choices they made.

Massimo Furlan and Claire de Ribaupierre’s Lasagne della Nonna brings Giuseppina’s story to the stage through the eyes of her grandson Davide. Giuseppina arrives in Switzerland in the 60s. The young bride is barely 17. She becomes a watchmaker, then a mother, and a grandmother. Her grandson Davide is an actor and drag fan, like Ali, the Moroccan friend whose papers make his stay in Switzerland uncertain. Situations become clearer through stories, genders, and generations.

Bern-based artist Ntando Cele’s performance Wasted Land confronts the human disasters of fast-fashion and the West’s feel-good ecology with its comforting organic labels and recycling centres. A musical plea for decolonial ecology for three singers/performers, Wasted Land follows the crazy beats of Egyptian composer Wael Sami Elkholy.
