In 2017, Anna Tauber met Suzanne M. She was 90 years old and had vivid memories of her circus days, when she performed an aerial frame act under international big tops with her husband Roger from 1950 to 1965. From these encounters, stories, and providential archives, Anna Tauber and Fragan Gehlker have extracted a rare work that combines the golden age of the circus with contemporary circus research. A taste for danger, states of grace, challenges, pugnacity and commitment unite them in their fleeting art. From personal accounts to images, Suzanne: A History of the Circus features a timeless experience of their flight on the edge of memory.
