When concert halls close, La Bâtie’s Lieu Central opens its doors, inviting the public to partyat Fonderie Kugler the night away for 7 nights of clubbing. Co-organised with various collectives, these events will feature the cream of the international nightlife scene. Musicians, DJs, and performers will be putting on pumping sets and performances ranging from baile to reggaeton, techno, and house. Let’s dance!
BASHKKA
Whatever she’s up to, whether setting the dancefloor on fire with her acid, electrifying sets or passionately supporting cultural and decolonial progress through electronic music, BASHKKA always embodies the wind of change. She brings a breath of fresh air, imbued with the flavour and authenticity of the ballroom scene. A few years spent in New York and contacts with the Afrodescendant trans community have helped her find her true artistic identity. From her residency at Munich’s Blitz club to the Panorama Bar at the Berghain, where she soon became a regular, her sets channel some intoxicating energy. Her integrity shines through in her unwavering activism and commitment to her community. Driven by a desire to represent queer and SWANA people, BASHKKA re-imagines the counter-cultural potential of electronic music’s origins for the contemporary club sphere.
Jenny Cara
Based in Zurich, Jenny Cara got her start in the Lucerne club scene at an early age, and that’s where her musical education really began. Her sets feature happy, upbeat sounds influenced by the dynamics of British sound culture. Yet she refuses to be pigeon-holed. Never short of ideas or energy, she co-founded the eXchange project, which aims to combat discrimination and facilitate access to the fields of DJing and music production for racialized people and FINTAs*.
Owelle
A product of Geneva’s club scene, Owelle has long shaped her own vision of electronic music. Skilled behind the decks as well as in her live performances, she mixes styles and moods using techno, IDM, breakbeat, and many other elements. Her hard-hitting, fast-paced sets and seasoned melodies caught the eye of Elena Colombi, who invited her to appear on NTS. Through her performances, Owelle continues to demonstrate her love of electronic music with the same joy and fervour, taking audiences on a journey through time and space.
